Hey guys, remember me?
Yeah probably, not since I seemed to have dropped off the face of the earth since summer ended. xD; I can't believe how busy I've been lately, though. My whole life just revolves around school right now. Seriously. Between Theatre Theories, Transmedia Autoperformance, and performing Our Town... I have absolutely no life.

Especially because of Transmedia Autoperformance. That class is just eating me from the inside out. I have trouble concentrating on other stuff because I'm worrying to death about WTF I'm going to do in this class. I can't believe I was actually excited about it when I signed up for it... it's quite possibly the worst class I've ever taken in my life. Not because of what's required of us (creating a 10-minute solo performance that incorporates 3 different media elements) but because of the limitations our professor is placing on us -- such as... it HAS to be abstract and non-narrative, and it HAS to be a postmodern work (nevermind that in the actual syllabus, it doesn't say anywhere that it needs to be any of these things). On top of all that... she's not even the original professor of this class, she's just a stand-in, so she has no freaking business changing things like that just so she'll enjoy the works better!!

It's driving me crazy. I don't understand post-modernism at all, and I find it boring as hell because I don't understand it. So I have no idea how to create a post-modern performance. @_@ And I like narratives... as a wanna-be writer, I THRIVE on narrative! I'm not abstract, nor do I want to be.

So yeah. Every idea I was coming up for for this project was 1.) boring, 2.) unenjoyable for me to work on, 3.) creepy as fuck, and 4.) depressing. So yesterday I decided to nix it all and start from scratch. I'm now doing a NARRATIVE, a COMEDY that ISN'T REALLY AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL about a drunk pilot and a sober co-pilot (conscience) and she can KISS MY ASS if she has a problem with it.

On to happier news... another thing that's eating away my free time is my 7-10 page research paper for Theatre Theories! But I actually like this research paper, because it can be about anything we want so long as it relates to performance in some way. And so... being the fangirl I am, I of course chose to write about YAOI~! <3 And how it evolved out of transgender performance in Japan (like... the Takarazuka Revue, which is an all-female theatre revue that features and is glorified for girls playing male roles). ^_^ Its been sooo much fun to research and I'm actually really surprised to see that my professor loves the idea!

Oh! And before I go, just to satisfy my own curiosity, I have a question to ask any gay/lesbian/bi readers. And I'm sorry if it seems rude of me to be singling you out like this, but it is for my research paper and I'll explain afterwards I promise.

Question: Would you prefer your sexuality to be referred to as homosexual, gay, or queer?

Explanation: My professor got really mad at me for using the word 'homosexual' in the thesis for my paper. She doesn't want me to use that word, and instead wants me to replace it with 'queer' (which, in my opinion, sounds kind of insulting). So that's why I want to know. So if you have an opinion on this, please tell me - if you're comfortable doing so.
